Premium Clean New Zealand: Environment, Sustainability and Governance (ESG) Policy

At Premium Clean New Zealand, we are committed to providing exceptional cleaning services while minimizing our environmental impact and fostering a sustainable future. We recognize the importance of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices and their role in ensuring a healthy planet, a strong community, and a responsible business. This policy outlines our core principles and practices in these areas.

Environmental Responsibility

Green Cleaning Products:

We prioritize using environmentally friendly, non-toxic, biodegradable, and phosphate-free cleaning products. We will continually research and adopt even safer and more sustainable cleaning solutions as they become available.

Waste Reduction and Recycling:

We are committed to minimizing waste generation by using concentrated cleaning solutions, reusable microfiber cloths and a comprehensive recycling program for paper, plastic, and cardboard waste.

Energy and Water Conservation:

We promote water conservation by using low-flow cleaning equipment and techniques. We will also educate our cleaning technicians on energy-efficient cleaning practices to reduce energy consumption.

Sustainable Transportation:

We’re committed to minimizing our environmental impact. That’s why we actively explore ways to utilize fuel-efficient vehicles and alternative transportation solutions for our cleaning crews whenever possible. This includes incorporating hybrid and electric vehicles (EVs) into our fleet pool, making them readily available for our cleaning technicians and franchise partners.

Daytime Cleaning:

Premium Clean prioritizes environmental sustainability through daytime cleaning services. This innovative approach offers a dual benefit: cost savings for your business and a reduced environmental impact. Studies show daytime cleaning can decrease energy consumption by 5-12%, lowering our carbon footprint. Additionally, daytime cleaning minimizes disruption to nighttime operations, fostering a more conducive work environment for our staff, and ensures optimal hygiene in high-traffic areas like kitchens and restrooms.

Social Responsibility

Safe Work Environment:

We prioritize the health and safety of our employees. We comply with New Zealand’s Health and Safety at Work Act (HSWA) 2015 and leverage Safe Work Instruments (SWIs) to guide our comprehensive training programs. These programs equip our cleaning crews with the knowledge and skills to perform their duties safely. This includes training on safe cleaning practices, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), hazard identification, and risk management.

Employee Development:

Empowering our cleaning technicians is key to our success. We provide ongoing training opportunities, such as the IICRC certification program, to help them develop their skills and knowledge, which leads to increased job satisfaction and career growth.

Building a Fair and Rewarding Workplace:

At Premium Clean New Zealand, we believe in fostering a work environment that’s respectful and inclusive and offers fair compensation and equal opportunities for all our employees. We exceed compliance with New Zealand’s minimum wage standards, ensuring our cleaning technicians receive competitive salaries that reflect their hard work and dedication.

Community Engagement:

We actively seek opportunities to support our local communities and environmental initiatives. This may include volunteering activities, partnerships with local sustainability organizations, or supporting charities focused on environmental causes.

Governance

Ethical Conduct:

We uphold the highest ethical standards in all our business practices. We operate with transparency and integrity and are committed to fair and responsible decision-making.

Compliance with Regulations:

We uphold a sustainable and safe work environment. This includes complying with all relevant New Zealand regulations, such as the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act (HSNO) and the Health and Safety at Work Act (HSWA).

Sustainable Procurement:

We are committed to continuously improving our sustainable procurement practices. We actively seek suppliers who are environmental responsibility leaders and work collaboratively to identify and implement even more sustainable solutions.

Continuous Improvement:

We are committed to continually evaluating and improving our ESG performance. We will regularly review this policy and implement new practices as technologies and best practices evolve.

At Premium Clean New Zealand, we believe environmental responsibility, social well-being, and good governance are fundamental to our long-term success. We are committed to upholding these principles in everything we do and leading by example in the cleaning service industry.
